About the Album: "Lin and Davide are storytellers. In their instant compositions, miniature musical scenes combine to form a dialogue that absorbs the listener like a fairy tale.
Pervaded by presence (a tension born of concentration), the music unwinds, daring the ear and mind to tap into its flow.
It is tempting to picture images (drunken clowns, stampeding herds, columns of monks, ships at sea) – an inherent visuality heightened by their movements (the horizontal zigzag of the bow, the trombone’s slides) tracing patterns in the space around.
The storyline twists and turns, unpredictable yet clear, varied yet linear, like the slowly changing landscape of a video game, jumpstarting the imagination.
Occasionally, saturation sets in. At this point, a shift occurs: motifs redefine themselves, take on a new identity – what was random becomes structured; structure becomes repetition; rushing movement static chord.
The texture is dense at times, almost orchestral; at other moments, minimal – an ebb and flow that suggests a larger dramatic scheme." Ben Niran
